LaserDynamic Therapy
LDT Photorejuvenation
Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology of Issaquah, Inc. is pleased to offer an exciting new technique for facial and non-facial skin rejuvenation, named LDT (LaserDynamic Therapy). This technique combines the use of a non-wounding laser and a topical solution Levulan, to produce a rejuvenating affect on the skin unlike any other treatment.
There have been many advances in the treatment of damaged, aging skin in the last few years. LaserDynamic Therapy is a gentler approach to skin rejuvenation without a lengthy recovery period.
Is LaserDynamic Therapy right for Me?
There are many possible applications with LDT Photorejuvenation. Dr. Michalak may recommend this treatment for the following skin conditions:
- Acne
- Rosacea
- Sun damage / Photoaging
- Redness, flushed face
- Enlarged pores
- Blotchy pigmentation
- Wrinkles
- Precancerous lesions
If your skin is showing evidence of age or any of the conditions above, you may be a candidate for LaserDynamic Therapy.
LaserDynamic Therapy has been used very successfully for patients with Rosacea. This process reduces the redness and flushing caused by Rosacea. Another benefit from LDT is the influence this treatment can make to precancerous lesions and the reduction of precancerous tissue growth, caused by years of sun exposure.
What to Expect from LaserDynamic Therapy
Following the application of Levulan to the skin for a range of 15-60 minutes, the solution is activated by the laser and initiates production of new collagen to improve the elasticity of the skin and simultaneously reduces redness, brown spots and discoloration and surface irregularities.
Depending on the patient, between three and six treatments are performed at three to four week intervals to accomplish these significant changes. Recovery is minimal and is generally limited to pinkness of the skin for several hours or several days, depending on the number of treatments desired. Some mild swelling and light flaking of the skin may also occur, but is easily concealed until it fades in a few days. Depending on the patient’s skin, the results from LDT may last for years.
Patients having LDT notice that their skin improves with a more even-colored tone, smaller pore size, smoother texture and a more youthful appearance. LDT therapy is very effective for the face, neck, arms, chest, hands, torso or legs.
