Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a professional exfoliation technique that is widely popular in the Seattle area, offered by dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons and many medical spas.Is Microdermabrasion Right for You?
At Cosmetic Surgery & Dermatology of Issaquah, we frequently recommend microdermabrasion for patients who exhibit dull, damaged or rough skin texture. A brief microdermabrasion session can provide brighter, smoother skin, and usually requires no recovery time at all.
We commonly recommend microdermabrasion for improving the appearance of:

How Does Microdermabrasion Work?
Microdermabrasion uses suction and light abrasion to remove or “buff away” your dead skin cells. It’s a simple and safe process, and achieves results comparable to a light chemical peel. Microdermabrasion doesn’t penetrate deeply or resurface the skin like a laser does. It just buffs away the outermost skin cells to thoroughly exfoliate.
Your aesthetician will use a special handheld device to pull the skin up as crystals are sprayed against its surface. Meanwhile, a vacuum removes the crystals and the dead skin cells. After applying this technique in even patterns across the targeted area (usually the face), the procedure is complete.
After Your Microdermabrasion Treatment in Issaquah
You should be able to return to your normal routine right away, but remember that your skin will be very sensitive to sun exposure. Feel free to ask your aesthetician for more details about sun protection. To ensure best possible results, follow the instructions provided by the staff.
Because the treatment provides a mild abrasion, you should not expect a dramatic transformation after your first session. Many patients undergo a series of microdermabrasion treatments to achieve a satisfactory result.
